Hi and Welcome to Blog Your Own Adventure, the place where you can help choose the path and shape the outcome of any number of stories our bloggers start up.

In the tradition of Pick a Path and Choose You Own Adventure books, Blog Your Own Adventure is an interactive journey where the outcome of the story lies entirely in the hands of the readers and bloggers.

In a different twist to the paperbacks, Blog Your Own Adventure encourages the readers to submit sections of the stories (blogs) to ultimately choose where the story progress and eventually ends.

Firstly, just a couple of guidelines

• Each adventure should be no longer than 5000 words from start to finish.
• There will be of course, the odd exception to this rule.
• Each adventure will be divided into 5 parts, a start and a finish, and 3 parts in between.  Each section should be no longer than 1000 words, and ideally no shorter than 500.
• Each adventure should have 5 willing participants to see the adventure from start to finish.  Blogging twice in the same adventure is fine, but ideally not consecutive sections.
• The ending of each adventure should not be written before the 4 previous parts are written.
• Ideally no longer than a week should pass before the next step in the adventure is posted.  If it is posted before then, great!
• To avoid confusion and double posting, once a section has been allocated by a blogger, it will be marked as “taken”.  Components of the adventure must be written in order, and so if all sections of an adventure have been taken, the blogger should start a new adventure.
• Submissions to adventures must follow this procedure:
  • Send an email to letmechoose@blogyourownadventure.comrequesting to submit an entry.  In this email, please include:
    • Your name (or what you would like to be known as)
    • Which adventure you would like to submit your blog too
    • Which section of the adventure you would like to submit your blog too (next available, ending, start, are all acceptable)
  • You will receive a reply to your email confirming these details as a reference number.
  • Submit your blog to ichoosethis@blogyourownadventure.com along with your reference number.
  • Your blog will be reviewed, submitted and a notification will be sent out once uploaded.

Note:     naturally not all submissions will be accepted, even if a blogger has successfully registered.  Please refrain from submitting blogs that are extreme in:

• political or a religious nature
• violence
• offensive language
• sexual activity
• cruelty to animals

There will obviously be leeway in this and a disclaimer will be presented to enable a blog to be removed after posting, should the content be offensive to readers.
